Russell Revels, 70, of Dalton, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Monday, October 23 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Rev. David Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 until 4 before the service on Monday.
Mr. Revels was born August 29, 1936, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Roy and Winnie Solomon Revels. He was a retired Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor, a former Ben Hill County Coroner and former Ben Hill County Emergency Medical Service Director. Mr. Revels served in the United States Army and the Georgia National Guard. He was a Mason and a Shriner and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dalton. He was a loving and giving person, even in death he donated his body to medical science.
He is survived by his wife: Lettie Sirmans Revels of Dalton; sons and daughter-in-law: Mike & Jennifer Revels of Fitzgerald and Scott Revels of Tifton; daughter & son-in-law: Elaine & Donald Champion of Fitzgerald; stepchildren: Greg & April Browning and Freddie & Laurel Browning, all of Dalton; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sister & brother-in-law: Janice & Walt Sumner of Fitzgerald; brother: Wayman Revels of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Tracy Browning.
