Lawrence J. McCarthy, 42, of Franklin, died suddenly Sunday, October 15, 2006, at his residence. He was the husband of Tammy A. (Giordano) McCarthy.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, March 27, 1964 a son of David and Margaret (Sandersen) McCarthy of North Haven, Connecticut, he resided in Franklin for 9 years.
Mr. McCarthy was a self employed home improvement contractor. He was an avid fisherman and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
He entered the US Air Force in 1985. He attained the rank of Airman 1st class and was a tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. He was awarded the Air Force Training Ribbon, and was honorably discharged in February, 1988.
Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include a son: Patrick L. McCarhty of Franklin, 1 daughter: Katelyn M. McCarthy of Franklin, 2 brothers: Joseph McCarthy of New Haven, Connecticut, Emmett McCarthy of New York City, 3 sisters: Kerry Devlin of Poultney, Vermont, Maura Stavovy of Hamden, Connecticut, and Kathleen McCarthy of New Haven, Connecticut.
He was also the brother of the late Patrick McCarthy and Pegeen Alexander.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Saturday October 21st at 11AM at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church SQ Franklin. Interment will take place at the family lot at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery in North Haven, Connecticut on Monday at 11AM.
