Dennis W. Duarte. Age 82. Husband of the late Doris (Arruda) Duarte. He was a lifelong resident of Tiverton, RI. Died Thursday at St. Anne’s Hospital. Son of the late Joseph & Louisa (Cabral) Duarte. Before retiring, he had worked at the Naval Underwater Systems Center in Newport as a heavy duty equipment mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, boating, shooting pool, debating and spending time with his family. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy.
He is survived by 1 Son: Dennis M. Duarte & his wife Gail of Tiverton,RI. 2 Daughters: Missy Quay & her husband Mark Noonan of Wayland, MA & Doreen Kelly & her husband Jack of Tiverton, RI. 2 Brothers: Joseph Duarte of Fall River, MA & John Duarte of Tiverton, RI. 1 Sister: Sarah Cabral of Tiverton, RI. Grandfather of Tara Quay & her fiancée Omar Jabbour, Benjamin Quay and his wife Allyson, Jada Duarte, John Kelly & his fiancée Erin Richard, Jared & Matthew Kelly, Alex & Rebecca Noonan. Great-grandfather of Kirsten Quay & Isabella Jabbour. Several Nieces and Nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Duarte and the late Mary Christo.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Monday at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa Church, Stafford Rd., Tiverton, RI at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton, RI. Calling Hours Saturday and Sunday 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Tiverton Senior Center 207 Canonicus St., Tiverton, RI 02878.
