Elvira (Caldeira) Belli, 85, of New Bedford died September 15, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Emilio A. Belli.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Antone and Maria (Vieira) Caldeira, she had lived in New Bedford for all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Mrs. Belli was a homemaker and was married to Emilio for 58 years until his passing. She was a compassionate and caring person who made everyone feel welcome in her home. She loved her family and devoted her life to them.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Belli of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Diane Arruda and Elaine Meehan, both of New Bedford, and Theresa Coulombe of Old Lyme, CT; a sister, Mary Santos of New Bedford; 13 grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Arruda, Daryl Buck, Deryk, Darcy, Dayna and Dyana Meehan, and Kristina, Kaitlin, Karla, Kevin, Kerri and Kasey Belli; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Tony Caldeira and Georgiana Oliveira.
