Obituary

Joseph E. McEachron, 81, died at the Goddard Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton on Wednesday, October 18 after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late John E. and Irene (Fitzgerald) McEachron. Born in Stoughton, he was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton High School. He also graduated from Williams Business College in Brockton. Mr. McEachron was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was a janitor in Stoughton for many years before retiring 20 years ago. He had previously served as a clerk for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, DC for 8 years. Mr. McEachron was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and a member of the VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton. In his free time he enjoyed golfing and charitable donations.

Mr. McEachron is survived by his sisters, Jean M. McEachron and M. Diane Baxter both of Stoughton. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth A. “Betty” Keefe.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 8:45-9:45 AM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
