Mary Tate Mann, 78, of Derry, NH died Sunday September 15 , 2002 at Integrated Health Services, Derry. Mrs. Mann was born in Woburn, Ma, on July 17, 1924, daughter of the late Stanley and Anne (Ross) Zakauskas. She had resided in Derry for the past 23 years, formerly living in Windham, NH for many years. She was a former communicant of St. Matthews Church, Windham. She had been employed as a social service worker for Community Action Program (C.A.P) of Derry and Salem. She also provided daycare for several neighbors in the Derry area.
She is survived by seven children, Sheila Munson, Hill, NH, Patricia Cowgill, East Derry, NH, Roy Tate Jr., Estill Springs, TN, Arlene Indoccio, Rhode Island, Ernest “Eddie” Tate, Hebron, NH, Dennis Tate, Grafton, NH and Nancy Tate, Hancock, Vt., several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. She was predeceased by two sons, James Tate and Mark Tate.
There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday Sept. 18th at 9:30am at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. A memorial mass will be celebrated immediately following the graveside services in St. Matthews Church, corner of Rte. 111 and Searles Rd., Windham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to, Neighbors In Need, P.O. Box 447, Lawrence, Ma. 01840. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling arrangements.
