Obituary

LAWRENCE – John Francis Halloran, age 76 died Tuesday October 17, 2006 at Harborside Healthcare Twin Oaks in Danvers, MA after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born and educated in Lawrence, he attended St. Mary’s Grammar School and graduated from Central Catholic High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and was honorably discharged. He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence and for 20 years worked for the DPW.

According to his family he enjoyed sharing with his nieces and nephews his memories of the City of Lawrence. He was also an avid sports fan.

He leaves his wife of 27 years Dorothy (Moran) Halloran of Lawrence, MA
1 stepson, Michael M. Moran and his wife Mary of Haverhill, MA.
5 sisters, Leatrice Hackney and her husband Joseph and Patricia Nevins and her husband David all of Lawrence, MA. Geraldine Casey of windham, NH, Claire Hoffman of Sandown, NH and Ann Marie Halloran of Salem, NH.
2 brothers William and his wife Donna of Wolfboro, NH and Robert and his wife Rose of Salem, NH.
1 granddaughter Makayla

ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund Family/Dana Farber cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place Brookline, MA 02445 or to a Charity of One’s Choice. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 9:00a.m. at st. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemtery in North Andover, MA.
