Funeral services will be held on Thursday for Rose (Rubenstein) Widett. Rose died on October 17, 2006 at the Goddard House in Jamaica Plain. She was 93 years old.
Born in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Harry and Rachel (Stein) Rubenstein, Rose was raised and educated in Chelsea. She lived in Chelsea until 1949 when she moved to Newton. Rose dedicated her life to caring for her children, raising them with much love and kindness. She was a member of the Womens Aid to Heart Research, Temple Shalom of Newton, and the Spring Valley Country Club.
Rose is survived by her son, Neal Widett and his wife Janet Lomartire of Boston and her daughter Arleen Kemler and her husband David of Chappaqua, New York. She was the beloved grandmother of Steven, Elizabeth, and Andrew. Rose was the sister of the late Frances Greenblatt, Gertrude Sandel, Ida Cottler, Bill Rubenstein, and Abe Rubenstein. She was also the former wife of the late Irving Widett.
Rose's funeral will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. Chelsea, MA. Rabbi Earl Kideckel of Temple Beth Torah will officiate.
