Obituary

Edward J. McBride, 64, died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born in South Boston, he was a graduate of South Boston Schools. Mr. McBride was a Veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a Security Guard at Quirk Ford in Braintree for several years before retiring due to illness. He also previously worked at Brockton Taxi in Brockton. Mr. McBride was a member of VFW Post 1758, St. Marks, Dorchester. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 5 years, previously living in Dorchester. He was a resident of the Goddard Center in Stoughton for 4 years and was active in the activities there.

Mr. McBride was the son of the late John McBride and Leocadia (Szymczak) McBride. He is survived by his siblings: Bridget LaMonaca and Robert McBride both of Randolph, John of Dorchester, Paul McBride, William McBride and Louise Sweeney all of Stoughton and the late Josephine “Dada” Benson and Mary “Easher” Pokornicki. He was the nephew of Edward Szymczak and Sigismund Szymczak and the late the late Mary Szymczak and Josephine Stewart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, October 18 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne. Donations in Edward’s name may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 101A First Ave, Waltham, 02451.
