Audrey Elizabeth Shanley, 81, of Smithfield, died Monday at home. She was a daughter of the late Thomas J. & Ellen May (McDonald) Shanley and sister of the late Thomas J. and William H. Shanley.
She was employed at E.R. Hutchinson Company for 25 years and had previously worked at Bradley Hospital and Pawtucket Memorial for several years. She was educated in the Providence School and had attended Brown University Extension Courses.
She was a resident of Smithfield for 48 years and was a communicant of St. Philip Church. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling to Europe and Ireland and reading and keeping up with current events.
She is survived by nieces, Sharon Lavoie of Coventry, Susan Shanley of Narragansett, lifelong friend, Viola V. Johnston of Smithfield, nephews Thomas J. Shanley of Cranston, William H. Shanley of Smithfield and Timothy Shanley of Florida and great nieces and great nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 9:30 St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. If you are in need of a ride to the mass, please call Anderson-Winfield Chauffeured Services at 401 949 5557
