Ralph L. Maione, Sr. “Red”, 88, of Smithfield, died Sunday, October 15, 2006. He was the husband of the late Therese F. (Pellerin) Maione. Born in Graniteville, he was a son of the late Joseph R. Maione and Lillian H. (Illinger) Maione-Boss. He had been a resident of Smithfield for over 55 years.
Mr. Maione worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and served with distinction in the Army Air Corp in WWII as an aircraft mechanic and later worked as a radio technician at Quonset Point. He also owned and operated Ralph’s TV and Radio Repair in Smithfield for over 30 years. His interests were fishing, camping and bowling, and he was a member of the MSA Bowling League and the Town Hall Lanes.
He leaves two daughters, Gloria J. Maione of Warwick and Joyce M. Pezzulli of North Scituate, three sons, Paul J. Maione of Warwick, Thomas P. Maione of Meridian, Idaho and Lawrence A. Maione of Greenville, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a sister, Elsie Melone of Prescott Valley, Arizona. He was the father of the late Ralph L. Maione, Jr. and brother of the late Joseph Maione.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial with Military Honors in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm.
