Marguerite Della Arnold Selph, 84, of Tifton died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Eddie Hutcheson and Rev. Byron Perry will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Bobby McDaniel, Thurman West, Richard Kinard, Bobby Hobby, Everett Wood and Vic Stone will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Brooks, Rollie Delk, Steve Edenfield, Jay McNeese, Danny Tyson, Oris Hobby, Sam Wood and the Adult Sunday School Class of Tifton's First Assembly of God. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Selph was born on July 31, 1922 in Tift County and was the daughter of John Arnold and Lillian Stephens Arnold, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude E. Selph; one son, Roy R. Selph; one step-daughter, Mattie Green Selph; three brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter, Sherrie Evans. She was retired, a member of Tifton's First Assembly of God and had lived in Tift County most of her life.
Ms. Selph is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Claude H. and Glenda Selph of Tifton; two brothers, Eston Arnold of Adel and Preston Arnold of Adel; eight grandchildren, Steve Selph, Donald Selph, Shawn Selph, Darlene Laska, Kathy Selph, Jeffry Selph, Richie Selph and Tina Bales; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
