WORCESTER-Virginia M. (Bell) Sargent, 88, formerly of 8 Fairlawn Drive, died Sunday, October 15th in University Commons. Her husband, Robert J. Sargent, Jr. died in 1984. She leaves 2 daughters, Betsy S. wife of Fritz T. Zuegg of Shrewsbury and Louise wife of Edward Jalowiec of Falmouth, 4 granddaughters, Alison Zuegg, Rebecca Keane, Jennifer Gelineau and Laura Jaolwiec, 3 great-grandchildren, a nephew John E. Bell and a niece Kathleen Moriarty both of Worcester.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of William and Bertha (Leyden) Bell, Sr. and graduated from Classical High School and Salter Secretarial School. Mrs. Sargent had been employed by Fairlawn Hospital as an Admissions Coordinator for several years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church.
The funeral is Tuesday, October 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are from 8:30 until 9:30 the morning of the funeral. Please omit flowers and make contributions to the charity of the donors choice.
