Marie-Luise F. (Peschel) Cambra, 85, of Rochester died Saturday October 14, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John W. Cambra.
Born in Gurlitz, Germany, the daughter of the late Freidrich and Freida (Schaeffler) Peschel, she lived in New Bedford from 1946 until moving to Rochester 14 years ago.
Mrs. Cambra was formerly employed as a custodian for the New Bedford School Department at the Hannigan School until her retirement.
She was a member and former President of A.F.S.C.M.E. Local 851.
Survivors include four children, Cecelia M. Weeks of New Bedford, Maureen A. Cardelle and her husband Bill of Manchester, NH, Monica J. Cambra of New Bedford, and Michael J. Cambra and his wife Ann of Rochester; a brother, Henry Peschel and his wife Edna of Locust Valley, NY; a sister, Helen Reiser and her husband Harry of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren, Chris and Greg Cambra, and John and Zachary Duarte; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of late Lisa Specht.
Her Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 7-9 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Please omit flowers. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
