WORCESTER-Mary M. Murphy, 94, of Worcester, a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and teacher passed away peacefully, Friday, October 13th. She is survived by her sister, Catherine M. Quinn with whom she lived, her brother, Daniel J. Murphy of Portland, ME, 2 beloved nieces, Mary Ellen Brosnihan of Worcester and Mary Ann Murphy of Brookline, a nephew, Daniel J. Murphy of Cumberland Foresite, ME, 3 grand-nephews, Paul J. Brosnihan of Worcester, William J. Brosnihan of Haverhill and John M. Brosnihan of Bradenton, FL. She also leaves a grand-niece Ellen Ann Casamassa of Brimfield, a great-nephew Cosmo Casamassa and a great-niece Miranda Casamassa. A sister Ellen F. Maloney predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Jeremiah and Mary (Shine) Murphy. She graduated from South High School and Worcester State Teacher’s College. Miss Murphy was a second grade teacher for any years at Flagg Street School before retiring in 1980.
The funeral is Monday, October 16th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 9:30 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 929 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, October 15th from 2:00 until 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
