Mrs. Myra A. (Jackson) Mifflin, beloved wife of the late Chester L. Mifflin, died at the Arnold House in Stoneham on Wednesday morning, October 11, 2006. She was 91 years old.
Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, January 27, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Eva (Siddall) Jackson. Mrs. Mifflin was a lifelong resident of Medford, moving here from Canada as a young child. She was a long time and active parishioner of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Medford as well as the Unitarian Church. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and baking and was an active member of the Medford community, giving her time to the PTA and working at the Medford Polls for many years. She also worked as a home health aid for many years. She was a very loving, caring person who loved to give to people, especially her large family.
Mrs. Mifflin will be sorely missed by her two beloved daughters and two sons-in-laws; Marjorie G. and her husband Bob Powers of Stoneham and Lorraine A. and her husband Charles Gianturco of North Reading, one brother; Norman Jackson of Revere, one sister; Bessie Castellano of Medford, 12 grandchildren; Craig, Lisa, Julee, Jodie, Abbey, Melanie, Brenda, Lorraine Marcie, Tracy, Mark, Marla and Norelle, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Douglas R. Mifflin.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the First Baptist Church, Main and Hancock Streets, Stoneham, Monday, October 16, 2006, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours were in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Sunday, October 15, 2006, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, Donations in Myra’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
