Obituary

Louise Hunter Deese, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, October 13, in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Visitation will be held at Paulk Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 P.M. on Friday.

Mrs. Deese was born January 8, 1929 in Ben Hill County, to the late Franklin Joesph and Abbie Taylor Hunter. She had lived in the community most of her life, for past four years she had lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. Deese was a 1946 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She worked for 24 years with Fitzgerald Specialty Company and retired as deputy tax commissioner for Ben Hill County in 1978. Mrs. Deese was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.

Mrs. Deese is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Tracy Deese of Wichita, Kansas; 2 granddaughters, Jessica Deese of Jacksonville, Florida and Melanie (Kelly) Herrington of Brooklet; 4 sisters: Mabel Bowen and Helen Jenkins, both of Bonaire, Marjorie Lake of Atlanta, and Ann Herndon of Perry; 3 step-grandchildren: Lindsey (Brandon) Litzner of Nashville, Tennessee, Lauren and Landon Plumer, both of Wichita, Kansas.
