Robert C. Williams, of Derry, NH died Thursday, October 12, 2006 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mr. Williams was born in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Edward J. and Florence (Lavett) Williams. He served in the US Army for two years. A resident of Derry for 32 years, Mr. Williams was raised in Hamburg, NY and attended one year of college. He worked as a house wares salesman for Ecko products, Mirro Aluminum, and Marion Gaudet Associates before his retirement in 2005. During the 1980’s and 1990’s he was a volunteer for the Derry Hospice and also with the Ambulatory Care Unit at Parkland Medical Center. Mr. Williams was currently working as a part-time driver for Hertz. He was a member of the First Parish Church in Derry and was known in Derry for his neighborly way.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris J. (Helander) Williams, of Derry; two sons, Wayne Williams and his wife, Judy, and Keith Williams and his wife Jennifer, both of Derry, five grandchildren, Erik, Andrew, Bryan, Paige and Sean, a brother, Paul Williams and his wife, Sandy, of Bradenton, FL, a sister-in-law, Audrey Williams of Wales Center, NY, and also by six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Clayton Williams.
Calling hours were on Saturday, October 14th, 2006 from 5-8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Following cremation a memorial service was held on Saturday, October 28th at 11:00am in the First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry. A luncheon followed the funeral in the Church hall.
