Jimmy L. “Pop” Whitman, 63, of Fitzgerald Georgia, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel. John Dalton will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitman was born July 28, 1943, in Citra, Florida to the late Russell and Maudie Thompson Whitman. He had lived in Ben Hill County for the last 42 years. He was a logger and mechanic. Mr. Whitman was of the Holiness faith.
Mr. Whitman is survived by his wife, Linda Whitman of Fitzgerald Ga; three sons : Jimmy Lee Whitman of Thorsby, Ala., James Lawson “Roho” Whitman of Clanton, Ala., and Donnie C. Whitman of Fitzgerald; three daughters: Diana Martin of Jemison, Ala., Debra Ann Easterling of Clanton, Ala., Karen Robinson of Webster, Fla.;1 stepdaughter: Deann Brooks, of Fitzgerald, Ga. 2 stepsons: Sam Ray of Fitzgerald, Ga. and Lee Martin of Rochelle, Ga. 24 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren; one brother, Gene Whitman of Ocala, Fl.
