Obituary

Joseph Carlino, a retired Sergeant with the Capitol Police, died peacefully, Sunday, at Life Care Center, Stoneham, in the company of his loving family. He was 82.


Mr. Carlino was raised in Medford, the son of the late Joseph and the late Margaret (Migliore) Carlino. He served with the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart due to wounds received in combat against the Germans. After the war, Joseph joined the Massachusetts Capitol police and served for 28 years reaching the rank of Sergeant. Joseph was a member of both the DAV and VFW.


He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Fulgoni) who died in 2001. He was a devoted father to Joseph Carlino, Jr. of Revere, Joanne Domenico and her husband Ralph of Haverhill, Robert Carlino and his wife Susan of Stoneham and Ellen Carlino of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Joseph III, Cindy, Janelle and Robert Jr. He was a dear great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Angela Weiner of Medford.



Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Thursday at 9 am. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
