BOYLSTON-Joseph U. Fitzgerald, 77, of Boylston died Sunday, Oct. 8 at home.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Shirley (Tubert) Fitzgerald; a daughter, Susan Fitgerald McCann of Southboro; a brother, James Fitzgerald of Dudley; two sisters, Ann Murdock of Worcester and Kathryn Murdock of Marlboro and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester the son of Joseph U., Sr. and Mabel (Jones) Fitzgerald and graduated from St. John’s High School. Joe was a Korean War veteran serving in the Army. He worked as an installer for the New England Telephone Company for 30 years retiring in 1980. Joe was a member of the I.B.E.W, St. John’s Pioneer Alumni and the Knights of Columbus.
The funeral will be Friday, Oct. 13 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., W. Boylston with a Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s of the Hills Church, 630 Cross St. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, Oct. 12 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
