DOWNING, Timothy J.- Of Chelsea, October 7th. Devoted husband of the late Annette B. (Vona). Beloved father of Linda A. Martinello of Saugus and Brian Downing of Chelsea. Brother of the late Alfred Foley and John Downing. Cherished grandfather of Thomas Martinello of Saugus. At the request of the family, funeral services and interment are private.
A lifelong Chelsea resident, Timothy passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital late Saturday evening after a very brief illness at the age of 83.
An avid motorcyclist up until his passing, he was employed for 20 prior to his retirement at Cabot Paints and before that for over 20 years at Forbes Lithograph. At the time of his passing, Mr. Downing was Vice President of the Inner Circle, a postion he has held for many decades.
