Anna J. (Bono) Federico, a long-time Somerville resident, entered into rest at the Shaughnessy Kaplan Rehab Hospital, Salem, on October 6th. She was 77.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Anna was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Gilardi) Bono. Anna worked as a bookkeeper for several years with the former Apron Towel Supply. After marriage and the arrival of her family, she focused on raising her daughters. A Somerville resident for 50 years, Anna was a dedicated wife, mother, nana and sister.
She was the beloved wife of Gildo Federico with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Cynthia Collins and her husband Shelton of Stoneham, Marisa Kelley and her husband Michael of Melrose. She was a cherished “Nana” to Justin, Giliann, Taylor and Jordan. She was a dear sister to Jennie Butera of Stoneham, Lilian Galante of Stoneham, Vincent Bono of Andover, Anthony Bono of Saugus, Charles Bono of Peabody, Paul Bono of Winthrop, Marie Piscitello of Stoneham, Teresa Bono of Saugus, Michael Bono of Saugus, Louis Bono of Saugus, Joseph Bono of New York and the late Josephine Conte. Anna also leaves many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford/Somerville at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday
4 – 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
