WORCESTER__Beatrice B. (DeSavage) Wiwatowski, 77, of Worcester, died Saturday September 30th, in her home. Her husband, Alfred Wiwatowski, died in 1981.
She leaves her daughter, Janet Ruffo of Shrewsbury; a brother, James DeSavage of Worcester; a sister Virginia Laskowski of Eastham; a son-in-law, Mark Ruffo, three grandchildren, Joseph Ruffo, Nicole Ruffo and Amy Panechelli and her husband Michael, all of Worcester; and her “other sisters”, Helen, Maggie, Shirley and Annie. She was predeceased by her brothers, Adolph, Joseph, John, Stephen and Michael DeSavage and sisters, Helen, Julia, Anna, Mary, Irene and Aldona. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of John and Anna (Zuromski) DeSavage and lived here all her life. Mrs. Wiwatowski was a very active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, organizing and running the bingo program since its inception. She was a volunteer at the church, and worked countless hours to help meet parish needs. From cleaning to baking treats for first communion recipients, she was a constant influence in parish activities. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Women’s Guild and a member of a bowling league. Beatrice was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 3 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St. Entombment will be in St. John’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, October 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
