Constance M. Picard, 84, formerly of May St., Blackstone, died Friday at Oakland Grove Health Center in Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Joseph Leo Picard.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Bertha (Giguere) Lavallee.
Mrs. Picard was a teacher at St. Theresa’s Grammar School in Blackstone for many years.
Mrs. Picard was very active parishioner of St. Theresa’s for many years. She was a member of the St. Ann’s Ladies Guild at St. Theresa’s. She was the decorator of St. Theresa’s Church for over 30 years, and was a Eucharistic minister for many years.
She is survived by five sons, Jean Paul Picard, of Tacoma, WA., Bertrand Picard, of Blackstone, Charles Picard, of Woonsocket, Marc Picard, of Burrillville, and Jacques Picard, of Blackstone, a daughter, Rachel Ambacher, of Blackstone. She was the sister of Gerald Lavallee, of Plainville, MA., and Estelle Patrone, of Providence. She was the sister of the late Paul Emile Picard, Maurice Picard, Bernard Picard, Jean Lavallee, Muriel Bibeault, Lucille Haddad, Bernadette Cournoyer, and Jeanne Belisle. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Theresa’s Church, Rathbun St., Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
