Leonard A. Silvestri, died on October 1st in Florida. He was 65.
Lenny was born and raised in Medford. After high school, he served as a Ranger in the US Army in the Vietnam War and was a proud patriot. Upon his return Lenny became involved in the restaurant business. He owned and operated many restaurants in the Boston area, including The Great Gatsby. A professional golfer for many years, Lenny continued to participate in the Senior Tour. In 1984 Lenny settled in Boca Raton, Florida. There he continued in several restaurant ventures and in other entrepreneurial interests.
He was the beloved husband of Starr. He was a devoted father to Leonard and his fiance Angela of Florida, Maria Pasciuto and her husband Frank of Middleton, Deanna Amato and her husband Frank of Peabody. He was a loving grandfather to Anthony, Nicholas, Kyle, Francesca, Nico, Tyler and one on the way. He was a dear brother to Elena, Francesca “Fudgie”, Ronald and Paul. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 16th, in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. And may visit with the family Sunday, October 15th, 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
