Nicola Luigi Silveri, of Newton Centre a retired manager of the Tailoring Dept. at the Harvard Coop, died Wed Oct. 4, 2006. He was 102.
Born in Ofena, Italy he had lived in Newton for over 50 years. He was a member of the Filippo Corsi Society in Newton Centre and enjoyed playing the mandolin, and gardening.
Husband of the late Gilda (Cherubini) Silveri, he is survived by his daughter Antoinette Orsky and her husband Roman of Newton, his grandsons Clark Orsky and Alexander Orsky and his great granddaughters Gulianna and Alexandra Orsky. He is also survived by his brothers Livio Silveri, Ettore Silveri, and Fernando Silveri all of Italy.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Tues Oct. 10 at 9:30 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church Newton Centre at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Mon from 4-7 PM.
