Edith E. McKay, 70 of Goffstown, NH, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 in Goffstown following a lengthy illness. Mrs. McKay was born in Norwood, MA on December 25, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Thompson) Coffey. She was a resident of Goffstown for the past six years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH. She was employed as a waitress at the restaurant in Jordan Marsh in Bedford, NH for many years. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed candlepin bowling and was an exceptional athlete for her era.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas LaFrance of Pelham, NH, John LaFrance of Manchester, NH; one daughter, Cynthia Gelinas of Michigan; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her husband Tolbert M. McKay in 1997.
Friends called on Thursday, October 5th from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Londonderry.
