Obituary

Zigmond Michon formerly of 1725 Orchard Hill Road, Cheshire, CT has died of Congestive heart failure at the age of 83 while staying with his daughter and son-in-law Nanette and John Bailey in Mercer, PA. His wife and three children were with him during his final day.

Mr. Michon was born to Joseph and Caroline Michonski of
Wallingford. CT on December 7, 1922 as the eighth of nine
children. Following the death of his father, he and his four brothers and four sisters supported his mom through the Great Depression. He turned 19 on the day Pearl Harbor was attacked and received his induction notice the same week. During the war he served in the Ninth Air Force and crossed the channel into France and eventually moved into Germany.

Following the war, he took advantage of the GI Bill to graduate from Ameridcan International College and then earn an advanced degree from George Washington University. In 1952, he married the former Anna Mildred Williams of Takoma Park. MD with
whom he had three children: Ted in 1953. Nanette 1955. and
Brian in 1960. He moved his family 8 times until settling in Cheshire in 1960 where he worked in insurance and securities sales for John Hancock until his retirement in 1984

He is survived by his wife Anna. Sons Ted and Brian,daughter Nanette Bailey, brothers Theodore and Nat and sisters Alma Gadomski and Jane Bergren.

Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery Maynard. Mass.
