Obituary

William F. Meader, 98, of Winchester, died at home on Monday, October 2, 2006, surrounded by his family. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Sabina (Mellody) Meader. A graduate of Boston University, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team, he made his residence in Winchester since 1956.

William was happily married to Mary A. (FitzGerald) for 59 years. He was a Director of Sales for Fleischman’s Liquor for over 30 years, in charge of the New England territory.

In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing. He always walked the golf courses and played until he was into his 90’s. A member of the Jenks Senior Center, he also enjoyed playing the piano.

He was the dear brother of the late John, Mary Meader, Dorothy Burke, Frank and Arline Whiteley. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Thurs. Oct. 5th at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Winchester at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Wed. from 4-8PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
