William Henry "Dub" Fowler, 78, of Tifton, died Friday, September 29, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. George Parrish will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. James "Skeet" Brady, Wade Brady, Jeff Guess, Roger Stone, Terrell Stone and Mark Draughon will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 1, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Fowler was born on October 11, 1927 in Tift County and was the son of Henry Austin Fowler and Thelma Cosper Fowler, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Fowler. He was retired from Long Manufacturing and was a member of Tifton Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Fowler also served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife, Virginia Perry Fowler of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Julie Fowler of McDonough and Tony and Marilyn Fowler of Biloxi, Mississippi; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Oris Stone of Tifton; one brother, Kenneth Fowler of Tifton; four sisters, Verdie Brady of Sylvester, Helen Heaton of South Carolina, Brenda Rasmussen of Virginia, JoAnn Hranicky of Texas; five grandchildren, Keith, Sherri, Hannah, John and Josiah; and two great grandchildren.
