Maryann Hooley of Dorchester and former longtime resident of Charlestown, died on Thursday September 28, 2006 at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston following a long battle with cancer. She was 60 years old.
Maryann was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown, where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1963. She then attended Bentley College, majoring in accounting. Maryann worked for several years at The Boston Public Library and most recently was employeed by Olives Restaurant in Charlestown.
Maryann is the beloved daughter of the late John and Thomasina "Claire" (Casey) Hooley. She is the devoted sister of John Hooley of Cambridge and the late Margaret "Margie" Hooley. She is the lifelong and dear friend of Melody Gay-Ward, Kathleen Cahill, Glenys Cummings and Carah McLaughlin.
Maryann's Funeral will held on Tuesday October 3, 2006 at 10 am. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Maryann will be held on Monday October 2, 2006 from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
