TEWKSBURY - Anna W. (Gould) Smith, 75, a Tewksbury homemaker and mother of nine, diedWednesday, Sept. 11, at the Tewksbury Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of johnC. Smith, who died in April 2001.
She was born in Sunderland, Mass., September 12, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Bernice(Brown) Gould. She was raised in western Mass., and lived in Woonsocket, R.I. before movingto Tewksbury in 1964.
In addition to raising her large family, she worked in electronic manufacturing.
She is survived by five sons, James C. Smith of Arkansas, Keith Smith of Belmont, Daniel S.Smith of Lowell, Gerald C. Smith of Andover, Edward R. Smith of Methuen, three daughters,Brenda Cross and her husband David Cross of Rutland, MA, Nancy V. and her husband KevinFlaherty of Lowell, Louise B. Barriss and her husband Dick Barriss of No. Reading, a son-in-law,William Dunlevy of Andover, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one brother Peter Gouldof Chelmsford.
She was also mother of the late and Gail C. Dunlevy, who died in July 2002.
Her funeral was Saturday, Sept. 14 in the Tewksbury United Methodist church. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
