Demling Of Whitman, Wednesday September 27th, Joseph F. “Joe”, 71, father of Christopher Demling of Lakeville, Joseph S. and Linda J. Demling of Whitman, Jayne Reynolds of CA, Sandra Demling of OH; he is also survived by the mother of his children Doris A. Demling of Whitman, longtime companion Ellen Reade and her two sons Thomas and George of Whitman; brother of Betty Worford of Washington State and Emma Grenier of Malden; he was especially close to his grandchildren Aarin, Jessica, Nicholas, Jacob and Haley as well as four other grandchildren; great-grandfather of several and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several other brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be held Monday October 2nd from 4-8 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Joseph “Joe” F. Demling 71, died Wednesday September 27th in the Brockton Hospital, after a period of falling health. He is survived by his longtime companion of Ellen Reade, and the mother of his children Doris A. Demling of Whitman.
Born in Boston a son of John and Maude (Shields) Demling, he was brought up in Randolph and attended Randolph Schools.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force 54th Squadron during the Korean War.
He resided in Whitman for 42 years and worked at Gillette for 20 year before his retirement.
Joe loved gambling especially at the dog track.
In addition to his long time companion Ellen Reade and the mother of his children Doris A. Demling he
is survived by his children Christopher Demling of Lakeville, Joseph Demling of Whitman, Linda Demling of Whitman, Jayne Reynolds of CA, and Sandra Demling of Ohio, his sisters Betty Worford of Washington State and Emma Grenier of Malden. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
