Victor A. Gaudet Jr.
Victor “Vic” A. Gaudet Jr. of Harwich, Ma, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026, at the age of 83, with Flora- his best friend and beloved wife of 59 years by his side, along with his daughters. Born on February 11, 1943, to Victor A. and Catherine Gaudet in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Vic was a proud graduate of Boston College. In 1967, he was drafted during the Vietnam War while attending graduate school at Babson College. He went on to Fort Benning to Officer Candidate School (OCS), where he earned the highest award for Leadership in his class. He served in Vietnam from 1970-1971, returning home a Valor Bronze Star Recipient.
Upon returning from Vietnam, Vic began his career at Chesebrough-Ponds in 1973 as a Regional Sales Rep, rising through the organization with multiple roles, before becoming Senior Vice President in 1980. Vic was a charismatic leader and built strong relationships within the industry and among his employees. After 25 years at Chesebrough-Ponds, he went on to Elizabeth Arden, where he was Senior Vice President of Customer Development and Marketing. In 1995 he completed his career at Revlon, as President of North America, where he retired in 2000.
Vic worked hard his entire life, but he also played hard. He had a passion for running. He enjoyed running local races, half marathons and marathons. He could be spotted running throughout his beloved Harwich. Vic also loved tennis. Vic was instrumental in supporting the Senior Men’s Tour in the early 90’s, traveling to Tournaments and at Eliabeth Arden presented the Women’s Championship Trophy at the U.S. Open. He also loved golf and looked forward to his Wednesday and Sunday games at Cranberry Valley.
Vic leaves behind his best friend and beloved wife, Flora; his daughters Flora Marie, Nicole and husband Chris Welburn, Colette and husband Jim Nolan.
Upon retiring, Vic took his last and most important role, being the “World’s Greatest Grandfather”, affectionately known as “Puppy” to the “Great Eight”, his grandchildren. Vic cherished his time with Jack, Brady, Shea and Shannon Welburn and James, Zach, Maggie and Tory (Victoria) Nolan. His love, energy and whimsical “Puppy” role was by far his favorite. He could often be found playing on the beach at Stone Horse Yacht Club or watching his grandchildren playing tennis at Harwich Port Tennis. As the grandchildren grew, he could be found cheering them on at their high school and college sports.
The family invites you to honor Vic with memorial donation to the Cape Cod Alzheimer’s Family Support Center, Brewster Massachusetts, Cape Cod Veterans, Inc or Amedisys Foundation (Beacon Hospice Hyannis).
Plans for a service and celebration of Vic’s life will be announced at a later date.
