Geraldine “Gerry” Mae (Hall) Van Grevenhof, 88, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, peacefully departed this life on October 28, 2026. She was cherished as a devoted daughter, sister, wife, nurturing mother, proud grandmother, and beloved great-grandmother.
Born on January 30, 1938, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Gerry was the daughter of the late Ralph Edwin Hall and Ethel Rose (Coleman) Hall. Gerry was a lifelong resident of Londonderry, New Hampshire. After attending local schools, she graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1956. She was married to Vernon Van Grevenhof for 67 years, a beautiful union that produced their two daughters, Kimberly M. and Karen L.
In addition to dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker, Gerry was employed by Jordan Marsh (Macy's) in Bedford. She was thoroughly ingrained in the Londonderry community, serving the school district as a lunch program worker for 20 years and as a crossing guard for 10 years. For 37 years, no town, state, or national election took place without her vital contribution as the Supervisor of the Voter Checklist. Her decades of dedication to the town were recognized by her well-deserved selection as the Londonderry Citizen of the Year in 2017.
Over the last several years of her life, Gerry rediscovered a deep love of reading. The thoughtful staff at the Leach Library in Londonderry worked closely with her to find new authors and books she would enjoy.
Gerry is survived by her beloved husband, Vernon "Van", who stood by her side through life's many adventures. She leaves behind their two daughters, Kimberly Robinson and her husband Wayne of Goffstown, NH, and Karen Desmarais and her husband Paul of Manchester, NH; her sister-in-law, Joanne Hall; three proud grandchildren, Timothy, Krisandra, and Danielle; and nine cherished great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Marion Parenteau and her husband Fred, Shirley Eaton and her husband Robert, and her brother, Donald Hall.
A public celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Gerry's honor to the Leach Library, 276 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH 03053.
