Teodora Flores Chacón, 84, passed into the presence of God on October 25, 2026. She was born on April 8, 1942, in Chalatenango, El Salvador.
She was the beloved wife and lifelong companion of the late Nazario Merino. She is survived by her children, Isabel Merino Flores, Nazario J. Merino Flores, and Mario R. Merino Flores; her five grandchildren; her daughters-in-law and son-in-law; and her six great-grandchildren, all of whom surrounded her with love. She was also dearly loved by her two surviving sisters, Paquita and Paula, as well as by her nieces and extended family.
Teodora leaves behind a beautiful and lasting legacy. Humble yet resilient, she never gave up, even during the most difficult moments of her life. A true worshiper, she loved praising God. She had a noble heart, always kept those she loved close to her heart, and was ever ready to lend a helping hand, continually striving to reflect the character of Christ in the lives of others.
She loved tending to her plants and sewing, and she possessed a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit. No circumstance could ever defeat her. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family and the special moments they shared.
A wake will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation Lion of Judah 68 Northampton Street, Boston, MA 02118.
Following the service, she will be taken to El Salvador, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
