Obituary

SALEM - Maria Mikulewicz, 90, of Salem, wife of the late Michal Mikulewicz, died Wednesday afternoon, September 27, 2006, in the Salem Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born in Kadysz, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Michal & Ludwiga (Hrynaskiewicz) Mieszczanski. She has been a resident of Salem since coming to the United States in 1966.

Prior to her retirement in the early 1980's, she was employed at Empire’s on Essex Street in Salem for many years.

Mrs Mikulewicz was a communicant of the St. John the Baptist Church where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed gardening and her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Krystyna & Miroslaw Reksc of Middleton, Wanda and Robert King of Hamilton, Laura Mikulewicz of Salem, 7 grandchildren, Marek and his wife Alicja Reksc and Tomasz Reksc of Middleton, Stefanie King of Rochester, NH, Angela King, Teresa King Caroline King and David King all of Hamilton, 2 great grandchildren, Olivia and Adam Reksc of Middleton, 2 sisters, Leokadia “Laura” Mieszczanski, Feliksa “Phyllis” Mieszczanski, both of Salem and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Stanislaw “Stanley” Joseph and Feliks Mieszczanski and 2 sisters, Franciszka Prochorski and Wladyslawa “Alice” Burba.

Her funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 2, 2006 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Sunday, 3 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
