TEWKSBURY - Nellie K. (Dunlap) Marold, age 77, a textile re-weaving expert, died Wednesday
evening, Sept. 27, at her Tewksbury home, following a courageous three year battle with cancer.
She was the wife of John L. Marold, with whom she would have celebrated her 52th wedding
anniversary on December 20.
She was born in McKee’s Mills, New Brunswick, Canada, on September 19, 1929, a daughter of
the late Stephen and Della (Trites) Dunlap, and was raised in McKee’s Mill. She emigrated to the
United States at the age of 18, and settled in the Boston-Watertown area. She moved to
Tewksbury in 1959.
Mrs. Marold was known throughout the Northeast and New York City for her skill in the art of
invisible re-weaving.
She was active in Tewksbury’s Victory Garden, and was an accomplished gardener in and around
her home. She was described by her son as having devoted her life to her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Gary W. Marold of Nashua, NH; and one niece
Marilyn Gain of Canada.
She was also sister of the late Ethelyn Irvine.
Her funeral service was held Saturday, Sept 30, in the funeral home, followed by interment in Tewksbury Cemetery.
