Obituary

Louise Cullen (Boresen), 81, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026 at home with her loving husband and daughter by her side.

Louise was a teacher, mentor, and a mom, or Mema to everyone who knew her. She blazed trails in Massachusetts as a special education teacher helping families get the first laws in the nation passed to support special needs children. She embraced the future, teaching herself technology and programming in the early 80s and combined those skills to make sure the programs she had started were followed and resources were delivered to the children that needed them for Boston Public Schools until the early 1990’s. Louise worked for Comcast Cable until her retirement in 2012. During her retirement, she stayed close to the community, working for CVS and various small businesses and enjoying her connection with people.

Singing and music were always a huge part of Louise’s life from the time she was a young child, learning barbershop from her father and his quartet. She followed in his footsteps, singing barbershop for many years with the Liberty Bell chapter of Sweet Adelines International, her own quartet, Sunshine Express, and directed a small chorus in Haverhill, MA before singing with Rhythm of New Hampshire after moving to Londonderry. She passed this love of music on to her three daughters and many others in their families.

Louise grew up in northern NJ and upon graduation from college, moved with her first husband to Massachusetts. They settled in the suburbs of Boston where she had and raised three daughters. Louise was remarried with Jeffrey Cullen in 1993. Since 2003, Louise and her husband Jeff have lived in Londonderry, NH.

Louise was predeceased by her parents Harry and Anita (Lindes) Boresen and her brother, Lawrence. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jeff Cullen, as well as her daughters and grandchildren: Kimberly Imparato and her children Morgan and Gavin, Kelly McSweeney, her wife Elizabeth (Baynes) and son Grayson, and Kristen Morey, her husband Bill and daughter Elise. She also leaves behind her loving sister-in-law, Jane Boresen, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

After cremation, calling hours will be held on Tuesday October 27, from 1:00 to 2:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 in the funeral home.
