Maria Teresa Torriani, 85, of Medford, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2026, after a valiant battle with Parkinson`s disease.
Maria was born in Ceserana, Italy, where she spent her childhood before coming to the United States with her family and settling in Somerville. After leaving her position at Arthur D. Little, she spent the remainder of her career working alongside her brothers at Santini Brothers Iron Works in Medford. Her role as co-owner reflected her strong work ethic, commitment, and the importance she placed on family.
Maria was a devoted woman whose unique dry wit and wonderful sense of humor brought laughter and smiles to those around her. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, knitting, and reading, particularly her favorite magazines. These simple pleasures, along with the time she spent with loved ones, brought her great happiness throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alessandro Santini and Feruccia (Torlai) Santini, and her husband, Ettore Torriani, whom she lost many years ago.
She leaves behind her partner, Carmen Agostino, and his family; her son, Mark, and his wife, Jenny; and her grandchildren, Meredith, Avalyn, Rocco, and Ashlee. She is also survived by her brothers, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Thursday, October 22nd, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, and again on Friday morning, October 23rd, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church 118 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Donations in Maria`s memory may be made to the Parkinson`s Foundation, New England, [email protected] or Parkinson.org
