BIDDEFORD- Peter R. Gagne, 53, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2026, after a courageous battle of kidney disease.
Peter was born in Biddeford, Maine, on February 5, 1973, to Peter R. Gagne Sr. and Bernadette Gagne. He was educated in the Biddeford school system. Peter was formerly married to Michelle Sterling. Through this marriage, he gained three stepchildren: Thomas Gregg, Tanya Gregg, and Timothy Mercier.
Peter was predeceased by his father, Peter R. Gagne Sr., and his brother, Norman Gagne.
Peter had a true love for life. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family. He had a special way with children and animals, who were naturally drawn to him. Peter was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, always ready with a clever response that could make those around him laugh. His humor, warmth, and unique personality brought joy to the people fortunate enough to know him.
Peter is survived by his mother, Bernadette “Bernie” Gagne, of Biddeford, and her significant other, Bill Weselman; his daughter, Tanya Gregg, of Biddeford; 2 stepsons Timothy Mercier of Lewiston and Thomas Gregg of Georgia; his brother, Robert Gagne, and his wife, Kim; his sisters, Tammy Lariviere and her husband, Jim; Dee-Anna Archambault and her husband, Bob; and Diane Fortney.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Rosie, James, and Johnny, whom he adored, as well as his great-nieces, Madison and Brooklyn Lariviere, along with many other nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his best friend and caregiver Don Cass. Without Don Peter would not have been able to remain in his own home as long as he did.
Peter will be remembered for his love of family, his appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and the laughter he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Sunday Oct. 25th from 2-5 PM at the Biddeford Eagles, 57 Birch St., Biddeford
