Richard McKillop, 99, of Hingham, MA died peacefully in his sleep on October 9th, 2026.
He was a beloved husband of the late Priscilla (Mimi) Robinson McKillop and a wonderful stepfather of Donald Grow and father-in-law of Elaine Grow of Clearwater FL, grandfather of Dana Dowd of Norwell, Jordan Hoffman of Natick, Ryan Grow of Weymouth and the late Adam Grow of Clearwater Fl.
He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
Richard joined the US Navy at age 17 and spent 2 years on the USS Diphda in the South Pacific during WWII. He proudly wore his Navy WWII hat every day and loved being greeted by strangers and thanked for his service.
He had many friends at the Eagles, the Alumni, The Range and the Mad Hatter in the Weymouth/Hingham area where everyone knew his name and often bought him a beer.
Richard worked for Republic Supply Company in Norwood for over 35 years. He spent his later years as a well-known and beloved resident of Linden Ponds in Hingham.
Graveside service will be held privately in Maple Grove Cemetery, Walpole.
