Obituary

LACONIA ---- Albert Joseph LeComte, 93, of the Taylor Community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 to be with the Lord.

Al was born on February 10, 1933 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Joseph LeComte and Denise (Soucy) LeComte.

After graduating from Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, New Jersey he was drafted by the U.S. Army and was stationed in West Germany during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he attended college in the evenings and got a job with M.W. Kellogg Company in New York City, an engineering and piping fabrication firm. It was there he became close friends with George Zirblis who introduced him to his loving wife of 67 years, the late Victoria A. LeComte (Zirblis) after a trip to South Jersey shore. They married in April of 1958 and settled in Old Bridge, NJ.

Al was employed as a piping design engineer for Kellogg, then Jacobs Engineering and finally Foster Wheeler. He traveled a lot for work. He was sent to many places to work on different projects, including Florida, California, Mississippi, Texas oil fields, South American refineries, Michigan to work on the Life Saver Candy Factory and to Ireland to work on the Guiness Factory. On many occasions, since he was away from home so often, Vicki and his children would travel to where he was working and plan a vacation with him there.

When in New Jersey, Al enjoyed spending time with his family at the Jersey Shore. He retired in 1998 and moved with Vicki to New Hampshire. Al enjoyed taking long drives through New Hampshire country roads and mountains, spending time at the New Hampshire Lakes, as well as spending time with his nearby grandkids. He will be remembered as a hardworking, patient, loving husband, father and grandfather with a dry sense of humor.

Albert is survived by his three sons David LeComte (Elizabeth), William LeComte (Danielle), Richard LeComte (Trini Redfield); and daughter Carol Abromowich (Decran); four grandchildren, Courtney Laaker (Michael), Jack LeComte (Jessica), Grace Abromowich, and Ben Abromowich; one great-granddaughter, Lucy Jo Laaker and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Helen, Lillian, Lorraine and Paul.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 30, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 NH-25, Meredith, NH.

A gathering will be held in Thompson Hall following the Mass.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2026 at 3:00 pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Al's name to St. Andre Bessette Parish, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH 03426 where he was a longtime communicant.

The family wishes to acknowledge the nurses and aides who cared for him at Taylor Community as well as Quality Care Home Health & Hospice.
