Patricia C. (Connors) Sloan, 80, of Worcester passed away Thursday, October 1st in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 48 years, Michael P. Sloan, Jr. died in 2014. She leaves her children, Michelle Sloan of Rutland, Laura Arsenault and her husband, Daniel of Worcester, and Michael P. Sloan, III and his wife, Michele of Worcester; two sisters, Laura and Maryellen Lomax both of Charlton. She also leaves seven grandchildren Jessica Sloan, Brittany Wainaina, Matheau Sloan, Norman Fanion, III, Tiffany Arsenault, Joseph Arsenault, and Michael Sloan, IV; nine great grandchildren, Victoria, Norman IV, Addison, Harlon, Brayden, Lucas, Owen, Celine and Leo; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Fred and Marguerite (Dupuis) Connors. Patricia graduated from the former High School of Commerce in 1964 and went on to attend the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She worked for more than 30 years as a baker at Price Chopper, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.
As the oldest of her siblings, Patricia naturally became the matriarch of her family, a role she embraced with love and devotion. Affectionately known as “Grandma Pat” and “Aunt Pat” to many, she held a special place in the lives of generations of family members. She was also a proud godmother to many of her nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Patricia had a deeply caring and generous nature and was always willing to put the needs of others before her own. She helped care for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews throughout the years and could always be counted on to go above and beyond for those she loved. Her home and her heart were always open to family, and she found her greatest happiness in being there for the people who meant the most to her.
In her quieter moments, Patricia enjoyed crocheting. She also loved her dog, Bailey, who was her beloved companion. Patricia will be remembered for her selflessness, her devotion to family, and the countless ways she cared for and supported those around her. Her presence, as the heart of her family will be deeply missed.
Funeral services and burial in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Kiwanis Foundation of Worcester, PO Box 20275, Worcester, MA 01602.
