Rosemary Jean (Vida) Galante, 80, of Medway, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends at her home. She was the devoted wife of Paul M. Galante, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in New York City on July 18, 1946, Rosemary was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Scabanich) Vida. She was raised in the Bronx and later moved to Readville in her early twenties, where she lived for many years before relocating to Medway 13 years ago.
Rosemary was a graduate of Massachusetts Bay Community College, earning an Associate's Degree. She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant at Boston Children's Hospital and had previously been employed by the Massachusetts Nurses Association.
Rosemary enjoyed spending her time crafting at the Medway Senior Center. She was an active member of the Ladies Flower Club and the St. Joseph's Catholic Daughters Society. Above all else, Rosemary cherished her family and the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life. She was known for her strength, warm smile, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Christopher Galante and his wife Lisa of Medway and Andrew Galante and his wife Kelly of Somerville.
She was the sister of the late Helen Noseworthy and Stephen Penrich.
Rosemary is survived by her grandson, Zachary, his fiancée Jennifer, and her granddaughter, Marissa.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 6 at St. Joseph Church, Medway at 10:00a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
