Pietro Natale Barberi of Charlestown, formerly East Boston passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 1, 2026 at the age of 69 . Pietro was born on Christmas Day in Spadafora Messina, Sicily to the late Paolo and Caterina (Scibilia). Beloved long time partner to Rachael Britton of Charlestown MA. Former Husband to Maureen (Mazzochia) Onessimo, and former partner to the late Carmella (Bellanti) Anderson. Loving Father to Paul Barberi and his wife Monique of East Boston, Joseph Barberi of Boston, Adrienne Barberi of Boston, Pietro Jr. of Charlestown and Christine Bellanti of East Boston. Pietro is the Proud Grandfather/Nonno of his cherished grandchildren Paul Jr., Gianna, Domenico, Alex, Bella, Salvatore, Braxton, Michael, Amanda, David and Mikaila.; Loving brother to Concetta Trio and her late husband Joseph of Wilmington. Uncle to Pat Trio and his wife Laurene of North Reading, Natalie Dunnirvine and her late husband Kevin and partner David Newcomb of Bellingham. 'Son in law' to Roger and Margaret Britton. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Pietro came to the United States with his parents and sister in 1969 where they settled in East Boston. Pietro was in the Army Reserves in late teens, before starting his family. Pietro was very proud of his Sicilian culture, and enjoyed cooking his favorite Sicilian dishes, He loved fishing, hunting, watching sports, especially the Patriots, Spending time with his family, Sunday dinners with his sister Connie, gardening, and being outdoors.
