Obituary

ADREAN MARIE BURRELL
SUNRISE: DECEMBER 14, 1985 - SUNSET: SEPTEMBER 11, 2026

Adrean Marie Burrell, beloved daughter of April Monique Scott and Douglas Allen Burrell Sr., was born on December 14, 1985, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was a resident of Dorchester since 2004.

Adrean attended elementary school in Randolph, Massachusetts, and graduated from Rockland Senior High School in Rockland, Massachusetts, in 2001. A talented and extraordinary baker, she pursued her passion for culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu, where she earned an associate degree in Baking and Pastry Arts in 2015.

Over the past decade, Adrean held several jobs. She worked for Target for ten years and as a customer representative with Block by Block, she served for the MBTA four years until health challenges arose. Despite facing health struggles for six years or more, Adrean remained happy, energetic, and loving. Her laugh and smile stood out wherever she went brightened every room.

Adrean was determined and committed to accomplishing whatever she set her mind to do. She was a wonderful cook, and her creative baking was “the bomb.” She enjoyed playing The Sims, taking walks on the beach, and vacationing at Disney. She loved Disney movies and the Harry Potter series. Music was another joy in her life: she was a fan of Beyoncé, The Weekend, and Michael Jackson, and enjoyed reggae and dancehall music.

Family held a special place in Adrean’s heart. She cherished her siblingss, Le’Teya Keima Flambo, Jaquana Lucky Holleman, and Douglas Allen Burrell Jr., as well as her many friends. Her childhood best friend, Stefanie Lewis, and close friend and coworker, Maria Lammarre, shared a love of attending Beyoncé concerts with her. Adrean spent many hours talking on the phone with her younger sister Jaquana and was always there for her younger brother, DJ. She looked up to her oldest sister, Le’Teya, who spent Adrean’s final moments praying and ministering the love of Christ with her.

Adrean attended Eliot Congregational Church in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

On September 3, 2026, she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Savior, stating, “Forever and forever.” On September 11, 2026, she transitioned from this life into His care, where she now rests.

Adrean was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Beatrice Scott; her grandparents, Lourdes and Samuel Burrell and William Parker; her aunts, Kimberly Rosembert, Sharon Gathers, Elizabeth Hobbs, and Evelyn Cooper; and her uncle, Timothy Burrell.

Those left to cherish her memory include her parents, April Scott and Douglas Burrell Sr. (wife Cathleen Brown Burrell, Bonus Mom); Dr. Carolyn A. Claiborne (Bonus Mom); her grandmother, Annie Baldwin; her siblings, Le’Teya K. Flambo (husband Randy Flambo), Jaquana Holleman (husband Dan Holleman), and Douglas Burrell Jr.; her uncles, Tyron Scott, Willie Scott Jr., Kevin Scott, Tyron Parker, Matthew Burrell, and Samuel Burrell Jr.; her nephews, Terrence and Te’Shaun Thomas and Nathaniel and Maeve Holleman niece; her Godson, Anthony Blake; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends.
