Obituary

Cindy Grondin
August 10, 1961 – September 24, 2026

Cindy Grondin (Lennon), of Medford, Massachusetts, passed away on September 24, 2026, surrounded by her immediate family.

Born on August 10, 1961, Cindy built a life centered on family, laughter, and caring for the people she loved most. She was a devoted wife to Scott Grondin and a beloved mother to her son, Tyler, roles that meant more to her than anything else.

Cindy dedicated 40 years of her career to the Registry of Deeds, where she formed lifelong friendships with coworkers who appreciated her talent and dependability, as well as the personality she brought to work each day. When coworkers retired, Cindy would write poems for them, one of the many ways she showed people how much they meant to her.

When she was younger, Cindy was the life of the party. She loved to travel, spend time with friends and family, listen to music, and attend countless concerts and shows. She simply enjoyed being around the people she loved and making memories with them. As the years went on, she became the heart of her household, a constant source of warmth where everyone naturally gathered.

Family was always at the center of Cindy’s life. She called often, fed everyone, and reminded people constantly that she loved them. She wanted to know where you were going, who you were with, what you were doing, and whether you had arrived safely and made it home. Her questions were never about control; they were her way of making sure the people she loved were okay. For Tyler, his friends, and the small family she held so dear, that care became its own kind of safety net.

Cindy worried about every detail because she cared about every detail. She wanted everyone to have enough food, money, snacks, and whatever else they needed, along with a full belly at the end of the day. Even when she was not feeling well herself, her instinct to care for others never left her.

If Cindy was feeding you, you were going to eat well. Sunday dinners were a fixture in the Grondin home, with chicken cutlets and oven stuffers among the family favorites. Holidays were especially important to her, and Thanksgiving meant turkey, gravy, all the fixings, and more food than anyone could possibly need. Through meals and family traditions, Cindy brought everyone together.

Cindy had a sarcastic sense of humor and a personality that was unmistakably her own. She loved sports, especially the Boston Bruins, as well as bands like Aerosmith, U2, and the rock and roll of the 1970s and 1980s. She decorated for the holidays, handed out candy every Halloween, and found joy in the traditions that made each season special.

Most of all, Cindy loved spending quality time with her friends and the people closest to her. With Scott, that often meant playing air hockey, listening to their favorite music, or watching whatever was on TV after she had finished playing games on the computer — usually on Facebook. With Tyler, it meant games of Uno, Left Right Center, and Monopoly, or simply relaxing together on the couch and enjoying just being together.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Scott; her son, Tyler; and the many relatives, friends, colleagues, and loved ones who were fortunate enough to know her.

Cindy was predeceased by her beloved sister, Susan, as well as her parents, Joseph and Loretta Lennon. Their memory remained an important and cherished part of her life.

Cindy will be remembered for the way she cared for people: the phone calls, the food, the poems, the sarcasm, the Sunday dinners, the holiday traditions, and the constant reminders that they were loved. If Cindy loved you, she made sure you knew it and that someone was always looking out for you.

She may have once been the life of the party, but she became the heart and soul of her home, making everyone around her feel safe, cared for, and loved. Those who loved her will carry that warmth with them always
