
Darrio A. “Teco” McKenzie, 33, of Tewksbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital.
He was born on June 14, 1993, in Port Antonio, Jamaica, and was the beloved son of Rohan McKenzie and Gertrude (McKoy) Anderson. Darrio was born, raised, and educated in Jamaica before coming to the United States in 2010.
Darrio was a kind and jovial person, as described by his mother, and his sisters and brothers remember him as charismatic and full of personality. He had a creative spirit and enjoyed many things in life. He loved soccer, both playing and watching, as well as music and cooking. Darrio especially enjoyed anything that allowed him to express his creativity.
He worked as a bartender and was known for his outgoing nature and ability to connect with others.
Above all else, Darrio cherished his family. His survivors include his parents, Rohan McKenzie of Jamaica and Gertrude Anderson of Tewksbury, his four children: Zah-Lee Tah-Ial-Lawa I-T-Key McKenzie, Delilah McKenzie, Carter Andre McKenzie, Kaiah Carlee McKenzie, his siblings, Sheriffa McKenzie, Mekeda McKenzie, Sherifa Whyte, Crystal Medinia-DeLeon, Toni-Ann McKenzie, Anthony McKenzie, Kimberly McKenzie, Matthew Anderson, Alecia McKenzie, Maya Anderson, Thalia McKenzie and Olivia McKenzie.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family in both the United States and Jamaica.
